How do you get rid of dark circles under the eyes? we look at eye creams for dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

There are a lot of possible causes for dark circles under the eyes they can be inherited, certain bone structures are more prone to dark circles, or they could be due to dehydration of the skin, too much sun, or just the fact that you are getting older, they can also be a sign of an underlying medical condition such as poor blood circulation or dehydration.

There are lots of home made cures for dark circles under the eyes including putting warm tea bags on them, using slices of cucumber, putting hemorrhoid cream on them and even pressing a cold teaspoon to the underneath of your eye for a minute, well if none of those work there is alway the option of using make up and concealer to hide the problem.

However there are a range of good quality products on the market that are designed for dark circles under the eyes and the best of these moisturise and help get rid of the circles and at the same time act as a concealer so that you look better straight away whilst you are waiting for the cream to work.

Moisturisers that are for the body or face should not be used around the area of the eyes because the skin around the eye area is thin and delicate and some of the chemicals in normal moisturisers are too harsh and can damage the sensitive skin, eye creams have less harsh chemicals.

Avoid rubbing your eyes even when you are tired because there are lots of Mast Cells around the eyes, these are cells that release histamine and its main purpose is to increase swelling, which it does by dilating your blood vessels. When you rub your eyes Mast Cells release histamine which results in more swelling and more visible blood under the thin skin under your eyes.

Eye cream for dark circles under the eyes should be nourishing and should moisturise your skin, it may also contain tiny light reflecting particles which will instantly make your dark circles disappear, and with regular use the dark circles should vanish for good. To prevent them from reappearing you should make sure you get enough sleep, get plenty of exercise and don't spend too much time in front of the computer, smoking and stress are also bad for you.
